HELP!! Need advice before bringing into mechanic

i have 1 2000 suzuki esteem with only 63,000 miles on it. Out of no where it started fine and is in park fine but slides through reverse and drive. pretty much stays in neutral. What could it be? The rpms just rev up. I would really like some advice before i bring it in the shop. Thanks

Check the fluid level in the transmission it sounds like it is low, I'm assuming that since you have a gear called PARK that you have an automatic transmission.
