Question 2000 Esteem Windshield Washer Thing Broke???

Hey everyone,

I have a beautiful 2000 Suzuki Esteem, and for some reason, the windshield washer thing isn't working. I am an extremely particular person, to the point of OCD with my car.

When I engage the windshield washer switch thing, I hear the normal noise: bzzzzzzt, and the winshield wipers go, but one nozzle doesn't spray at all, and the other one doesn't as well-sometimes it kind of dribbles out, and YES there IS FLUID in the washer chamber, it is completely full!!!!

What is wrong with this thing? My windshield gets nasty sometimes, and I don't have a cleaner for it on the road!!!

Help!

Your washer is probably clogged up. I have the same problem every winter...

What you need to do is to get a small needle (small enough to fit into the nozzle) then CAREFULLY move it back and forth in the nozzle (one at a time) and after some time try to use the washer. Then repeat both steps until this nozzle starts to work (if you are lucky water will push debris out of the way) then move to the next nozzle and do the same procedures.

If cleaning the nozzles does not work, pull loose the hose under the hood and try it, if still no water replace the washer pump.

Glad it worked out. I don't think wanting to see out the windshield should be considered being OCD :-).
