Front crossmember corrosion

Has anyone experience a front crossmember failure due to corrosion on a Suzuki Esteem 1997 and or any similar model.

Yes, replaced mine June 13, 2008.

what is the year of your car and which area do you live? It seems it is a common problem on these cars, a service mgr at a dealership told me he has change one last week.Would like to hear of other owners that experience the same problems.

Live in eastern Canada where they salt the roads in winter, where are you located?

Car is a later model than yours.

I have a 99 Suzuki Esteem, no problems with mine but Oregon does not allow salting of the roads as it is more or less an environmental toxin in large quantities, we use other things instead.
