Default Trqnsmission filter

I have a 02 Esteem with an auto, is there a filter available for it or is it not required to change? I do a drain and fill at every oil change.

I use redline in my 5 sp, works good, but what are the opinions on syn gear oil VS redline MTL?

The filter is located inside the transmission and is not replaceable without tearing the transmission apart, if the tranny is shifting fine and doesn't slip under hard acceleration don't worry about the filter.

Its shifts great, at 57K miles I didn't want to overlook any maintenance items.
You seem to know a lot about these cars.

I have had a 1999 Suzuki Esteem 1.6 automatic for approx seven years now and have done all the maint. on it myself, it has approx 125k miles on it now and it still running great. If you didn't know already I run a website for this car, I will be covering the EGR valve and the cooling system in the next week or two.

I'm using Mobil 1 full syn 10w30 in my 5 spd. Change every 5000 km. It takes 2.2 ltr of oil. This is the 2nd tranny in her. At $2100 a pop I'm not messing around. I really have no clue if this is the best for her box, but from what I seen the tranny shops using, it's better than that crap. This tranny seams to be holding up really well. By the way if anyone has to change there box, don't buy that made in china junk. You only save 300 now, but you'll pay more later.

I am not sure why you are using 10w30 in the transmission that is normally used as engine oil, the manual for my 1999 for a manual transmission says to use:

-20 to 40 degrees C / -4 to over 104 degrees F = 80w90.

Below -30 to above 40 degrees C / Below -22 to over 104 degrees F = 75w85 or 75w90.

In my 4 speed automatic I use Valvoline 75k Mile+ Dexron III transmission fluid.
