Default Installed Audiovox CCS-100 Cruise Control

Kit is all installed and working perfectly. I see this topic has come up previous times in the past, so I'll put some of my notes for anyone searching in the future. This is an awesome kit for the price, as you can purchase it new from Amazon for only $85! If you plan it all out in advance, you could be done within four hours.

I mounted the servo on the driver's side shock tower, and used a loop connection that fit over the stock throttle cable barrel end. I didn't use the included beads, but I did leave a good amount of slack.

Dip switches were set to:
PPM = 4000
Speed Signal = VSS
Sensitivity = Medium
Control Switch = Off
Tach Source = Coil

The VSS was run to the ECU on the passenger side, behind glove box. Far left connector of 16 wires, fourth one in from right on front is a plain purple wire.

Tach was run to the computer on the driver's side, brown wire.

Brake hot and brake cold run to brake switch above brake pedal.

Servo grounded to shock tower

I used the included throttle cable mount, cut off a few inches, bent it 90*, and cut off some metal to account for the indented tabs on the factory throttle cable bracket.

The control source dip switch had me thrown for the longest time. If you use the switch that comes with the kit, this MUST be set to Off.

I mounted the switch next to the interior light dimmer.

Even though the Tach is spliced in from the computer, the kit would only work if I set the dip switch to "Coil" as the source.

I did build a vacuum canister at the end, but ended up not needing it. It was 8" of PVC pipe, with two pipe caps pushed on. I drilled in two 1/8" barbed endings (in from engine, out to servo). I picked up an air check valve from Advance Auto (HELP! part 47149) and put it in the hose coming from the engine to the canister. The canister was holding solid at 20" of pressure at idle. But, cruise ran fine without it. I'm doing a road trip this weekend through the mountains, so we'll see if the factory vacuum is enough for that.

Thanks for the info. Just got through following your suggestion and got the system installed in my wife's commuter.

Hi! Im trying to install the CCS 100 on my 1.6. I having problems finding the VSS and the tach. I've been looking at the ECM for the purple wire and found two? Don't know if its thesame on my 1.6 but everyting else have matched so far.

I can't find any computer on the drivers side? Where is it located?

The computer is located on the passenger side of my US vehicle, behind the glove box. Here is a picture of the computer:

The wires to tap into, described as being to the far left, would be at the very bottom of the picture here.

Also, a note: I've disabled this unit from my car. Maybe it was because I did not installed the bead chain (as directed by the instructions - we lost the chain), but with the cruise control installed the throttle kept sticking. Even when not activated, the throttle would stick at all speeds and RPMs. Eventually, I'll try it again with a new bead chain installed, to see if that was the problem.

On another note, when installed, it would only hold at a max speed of 80MPH.

I have two purple wires here, one on each side. The left would be correct?

The wires have small silver dots. What does this mean? One of them have on dot, the other two.

I thought the tach would be at the drivers side? I haven't found any brown wire anywhere yet. Nor at the driver or the passenger side.

As you can see in the picture I used the throttle wire lopp as in FIG 4 in the installation manual. I don't think it will hang.

I'm not sure if the vacuum is enough though, didn't want to install it to the brake booster.

Just want to find those last two wires!

According to my suzuki service manual (see pic), both Brown (Br) and Violet(V) wire goes to the ECM.

Maybe there is a brown wire just next to the violet with a gray in between?

Here's two pictures. One on the front and one on the back of my ECM. Wich wires to tap into?

I found a pdf from rostra describing the installation of VSS and Tach
http://www.rostra.com/pdf/Form4428.pdf

It says:

VSS - Location 2-35 pin conn Pos 27, Violet
and
Tach - Same 35 pin conn Pos. 2, Brown

Location 2 = passenger side/glove box

How do you calculate the locations? The brown i found is the fifth from right and one violet the seventh from right, the other violet is third from left (se ECM-2 pic). None of them have 35 pins...

Default Success!

I now have successfully installed the CCS 100 on my Baleno 1.6 4wd.

The correct wires for tach is the brown and the VSS is the far left violet wire (se pic).

Dip switches were set to (a bit different to the 1.8)
PPM = 4000
Speed Signal = VSS
Sensitivity = Low (medium was a bit jerky) Edit: High was even better!
Control Switch = Off
Tach Source = ECM

1: ON
2: OFF
3: ON
4: OFF
5: ON
6: OFF
7: OFF

(EDIT: Changed)

I also moved the vaccum to the brake booster when I was trying to get it to work but i dont know if it was needed.

I monted the unit to the passagerns side shock tower using the L-shaped metall. Used the bead-chaing to the gas wire (heared from rurik that not using it might cause it to hang)

Brake hot and brake cold run to brake switch above brake pedal. You are looking for the breaklight switch far up along the brake pedal, this is the one that activate brake light when braking, it's a bit tricky to reach it but take away the lid above drivers feet and lean in with your back on the floor looking up. A flashlight might be handy . Don't now who told me which ones which, can't check as I've sold the car. For the rest of the electrical I connected to the stereos wires, +, -, light

Used the WIRE LOOP FOR PULLEY as in FIG 4 in ccs manual, then drilled a hole next to the original gas wire
