Default Steering wheel removal (2001 Esteem)

A friend has a 2001 Esteem whose turn signal lever broke somewhere inside the steering column. So, we got a replacement turn signal assembly thingie, that includes not only the turn signal lever but the other lever and the entire piece that bolts around the steering column. So, it seems we are going to be removing the steering wheel out to get to the part. How to remove the steering wheel?
