Default baleno radiator plastic split can it be fixed?

suzuki baleno/cultus '97 the mrs commented that it warmed up on the way home, topped up the radiator to discover that there is a hair line fracture about 5 inches long along the top of the plastic part of the radiator (why on earth is it plastic?) anybody know if it can be fixed? can it be like melted together or is their some product that "welds" plastic properly?

it is not very practical to replace the plastic. I tried all kinds of silicon fillers and carbon fiber strip, and sealers. but nothing could plugg the leak. in the end I just replaced it. You gotta be really careful not to let it over heat you could seriously damage the engine. If ur in North America you should be able to find a rebuilt or aftermarket rad for under $300.00, but dont get one from the dealer they'll charge u like $800.00

Default okay

thx for that. i have found another radiator out of a 1.5 cultus, its outlet pipe is in the wrong spot (in the middle rather than at the end) but i am going to work out a way of fitting it. if it refuses to fit i will remove the plastic top off both the radiators and get the "new" one professionally fitted for about $60. will tell u how i get on.
