Hi everyone!

First of all my english is not so good because my main lenguage is spanish so I apologise If I misspell of canot express myself well. I have my Suzuki Esteem since brand new and after being able to do 16.0 at the 1/4 mile with only Basic alterations to the car so I decided to turbocharge the car. It has not been easy, I had to alter the transmition, decide how I could exactly mount the intercooler and since there are no performance parts for the car I had to made a few of them (the mainfold was the most dificult). Anyways halway, when I was testing the car, I made the grave mistake to use the car without installing a good racing gas pump and the car went lean and the piston rings simply gave up. Since I have to rebuild the eingine I was thinking that if I could mount stronger, lower compresion pistons so I could add more boost one I get a decent gass pump. Do you guys know what pistons I could use on my J18A? I could also use some suggestions, here are some pics of my car.

Hi listen up... just lemme know if your Turbo charged is working alright?
I got a 1.6 Baleno... all I wanna do is get it turbo charged... can u kindly let me know all the equipment necessary to get it turbo charged?

List things plzzz...
and which turbo are u using? I mean which company or which car did u get it off from???
Do so I got a race by the end of next week Help me dude...! I just got the 1.6 Engine for myself...!

i have 1.6L baleno and i m from india i have used Garrett T3 turbo with front mounted air intercooler and turbosmart blowoff walve with boost controller.

i m going to upgrade my piston sets to ROSS forged piston

right now i m using 4 psi boost ..problem is when i set boost to 8 psi MAP sensor on menifold cuts off power and shows check engine light..what is tha solution to MAP sensor....so i can use very high boost

i will send picture very soon...

Good job on the turbo. I put a GT25 on my 2000 1.8 took it for a run down the interstate got almost home and it caught on fire. Unsure of were you live but in Florida it gets kinds hot. Use a good fan for under the hood. So the Reno is getting supercharged, Low boost, Lots of vents.

Hi Balenosport,

just wanted to tell you that I think that it is great that you have put a turbocharger on your baleno and have sent in info and pictures. Fantastic!!
I've got a 1.6L Baleno but no way would I risk it, I need my car on the road and besides i paid way too much for it to risk such mods.
By the way I want to say that your English is pretty good and better than some of the contributors whose first language is English.

Hi Neo_Trace, the MAP is not designed for forced induction. Once it encounters a higher pressure, you will get a engine check light. You need a electronic device to limited the signal that the MAP receives under boost. A piggyback ecu like the Unichip can be used to 'clamp' the voltage so that you can run higher boost. Good luck on your search.
