Suzuki Esteem 1995, Engine Problem

I have a Suzuki Esteem 4 door sedan, 1.6lt GT engine, 1995 model with Air Condition.
When I first bought it from a friend it was ok. But a few months recently the engine would stall and stop only in heavy traffic jam, after leaving it about 10 minutes it would start again as normal, this ALWAYS happen when in HEAVY TRAFFIC. In normal traffic is OK. I have had it repaired in service stations around the city, most tuned the carburator. BUT STIL THE SAME PROBLEM occurs. The cooling system is ok. Temperature reading on the dashboard reads half way between C and H.
Please HELP waht is the real problem.
