Remove Rear Light Plastic Cover

hi
is there a way of removig the rear light plastic cover or i need to reove all light case?
i tried opening the screws inside the car but can't ssem to find a way to remove only the plastic cover.
is there a somting i miss?
would be help of great help if there is a dawing of some kind.

I have an 2001 esteem wagon - and in the owners manual it has instructions on how to replace the lights - not sure if this helps.
