Default Trailer wiring harness

I have not been able to find a plug and play trailer wiring harness for my 2009 Suzuki Equator. I was wondering if anyone has had better luck? The best I have found is a universal kit that is spliced into the vehicle wiring. Not what I prefer!

Default

It turns out that it was the same as the Nissan under the rear bumper. However, I have not determined if the electronic brake control unit is the same connection under the dash. I looked for the connector that should be under the dash by the steering column but couldn't find it on my Equator. It may be in the side kick plate on the front passenger side. I haven't looked yet.

Default Wiring harness

I just had U haul put on a Class III hitch and brake controller with a 4 and 7 pin plug. The plug was a direct plug into the prewired harness under the bumper the hitch is a direct 6 bolt on made by Reese for U haul, and the brake controller is like all post 2007 models and required a direct wire to the battery and fuse box. Ford with the brake controller built in is the only vehicle on the market today that does not require direct wiring for the brake controller. I did the researdh with the Suzuki service shop and they told me all the same information. Suzuki charge ~$775 to do the same install.

By the way U Haul parts and install after taxes cost $342.86.
