Default Suzuki vs Nissan

I was wondering what everyones opinion on the styling of the Equator vs Frontier that it is based on. That is the only real difference other then price about the truck. I am sure Suzuki will come in cheaper then the Nissan, but what about looks? I like the Equator better, but thats because I think Nissan does not know how to design anything outside of a sports car.

If you'll be asking about Suzuki Grand Vitara vs. Nissan Xterra, I might as well prefer the Vitara. Vitara has all the good stuff just like having the traction and stability control and pass lock entry with vehicle start and innovative power steering hose. On the behalf of Xterra, at first I thought xterra was the cheapest option but I was wrong. Xterra looks better though.

Actually, the Equator will be more because they have a much better powertrain warranty than the Frontier (7 year/100K compared to Nissan's 5year/60K with a 100K extended warranty available). We had one of our Suzuki reps come in and that was one of my first questions about the truck and he said that Nissan wouldn't build the truck for them and then let Suzuki sell it cheaper than their Frontier with a better warranty. As far as the looks, everything is pretty much the same as the Frontier except for the front end and some very few differences. The interior is pretty much identical to the Frontier.

Do explain. I've had 4 Nissan's (2 Altima's, 1 Maxima and a Xterra) and loved the looks on all of them and they we're all great vehicles. Currently driving a 2007 Altima and I think its one of the best looking cars Nissan has made in a while.

I have an Equator, and our customers already have confused it with a Frontier. (I am a Suzuki dealer). I would take it over the Frontier because of the warranty. Not only is the powertrain warranty longer, but the comprehensive warranty covers rental allowance if there is a warranty issue.

The Equator looks nice. Being it's the same as Frontier it's def a good truck overall. It does have the Tacoma headlight look though in my opinion.

With better warranty, I would get the Equator for sure if I was in the position to buy right now.

Suzuki is a preference if you like small cars otherwise go for Nissan.

Indeed, I agree w/ mge. The headlights of the Equator definitely look similar to the ones found on the Tacoma. The grille looks better than the Frontier as well as the nice shiny "S" logo on it. The warranty is great in my opinion. It makes you wonder will Suzuki capture a market share in the US that could scare the big dogs (Toyota, Honda, and Nissan)??? I wonder if people will look at this truck and wonder "So, Suzuki comes up with a truck and its a rebadged Nissan?" I mean did people think the same thing when Isuzu started rolling out their current pickups that are rebadged Chevys and GMC's or to some extent Mitsubishi with their rebadged Raider (aka Dodge Dakota)? It makes you wonder. Nonetheless upon first appearance in and out, the Frontier looks great.
