Default Suzuki Alto GL1.0 Handbrake cable

Hey,
Does anyone know how to remove the handbrake cable from the drum brake backplate? There is a metal crimp attached to the end of the wire that won't (obviously) thread through the hole in the plate. Is there some way to remove a piece from the plate to widen the hole?
Alternitively, as mine is very rusted, any pictures of a non rusted backplate would be much appreciated.
Also, how can I access the other end of the cable?
Many thanks,
Henry

Default Cable Removal

Where the cable enters the backplate use penetrative fluid - liquid wrench/kroil/wd 40/PowerSteeringFluid&Acetone mix
From the front also apply penetrative fluid where the sping meets the hole
Use a hammer and punch/drift (copper preferably) - drive the metal outer back - I assume you have slackened cable from lever adjusters.

Spring and cable should now exit through backplate.

If cable is rusted to outer you may need to renew cable.

Means removal from both sides - 6 clips(I think) - and removal of wheel in lever freed by three bolts - remove cotter pin and wheel can be removed - assembly from inside. Seal needs to be pushed in/out - Tricky but can be done.
