Antenna Question

Hi. My first post here. We have a 2003 Aerio SX. I am wondering what that little antenna on the roof is for? I seem to recall the salesman saying it was for a satellite radio. Is that correct? I was thinking of adding satellite radio to the car, and I was just wondering if that antenna would be part of the system and if there is a way to seamlessly integrate a satellite radio receiver into the car? If you're talking about the 8 inch aerial sticking up at the back of the car thats just your plain old radio antenea. Satelite antenea are actually flat if I recall.
