Default Transmissions

So how often are you guys changing the tranny fluid in the car. I changed mine at 48,000 and plan on it again at 98,000. I have 70,500 now on my 06 aerio. So does this sound about right. Also anyone have any tranny problems with there aerios. Mine seems good now just not as strong as when i first bought the car could all just be in my head or because of age and mileage? The service manuel said 105,000 till changeing the fluid but that sounds crazy to me.

Thanks,
Mike

the book is right, but depending on your driving habit and oil type you can go longer or shorter. I replaced mine at 50,000 only because i wanted to switch to royal purple.

i think it does and independent studies have proven Hp gains just by switching over all the engine oils to royal purple.

Wait a sec. Are you automatic, 06aerio? Weren't you manual, Devil? I'm not sure how fluid would make much of an HP difference on a stick. The change interval for my manual tranny is really short (20,000 km for several conditions, 50,000 for normal conditions).

your right my manual does say 50000 on my stick. i did say above though to replace all my oils and liquids. either way switching over from conventional oils to synthetics have been proven time and again in increasing performance. Also it protects against wear better then conventional oils. Look over the articals at the web site. i am not saying you are getting a 10hp gain but 1-2 is possible based on independent results.
