Default '03 Aerio Stalling

I have an '03 Suzuki Aerio Standard that has been stalling for quite some time. I'll drive it to work (roughly 10 minute drive) and it doesn't stall, but if I take it for any longer than that, it starts stalling. When I'm slowing down for a stop light or slowing down to take a turn, I feel my power steering go out and I have to restart it. If I'm sitting at a stop light when it stalls, sometimes I'll start it and it stalls 2 or 3 times before it finally idles again. If I start it and rev the gas, then it stays running. Talked to a guy at a local garage and he thinks the timing chain might be the culprit. Any other suggestions? There's no codes either to check. Thanks in advance guys!

There is a TSB about these cars stalling at idle which is due to the alternator not putting out enough causing the battery to discharge while idling and has been know to cause the car to stall. The TSB only states about battery discharge at idle and gives a new part number(31400-59J00). Have seen this before, and easy to check alternator output with vehicle in gear idling.

Default Problem Solved

Fixed the problem and figured Id post a follow up here for anyone having similar problems. I looked around online and found people were having problems with the idle air control valve. I took it off, it was coated with carbon. Cleaned it up with carb/choke cleaner, let it dry, sprayed some WD40 on it, put it back together and problem solved. Quick easy fix.

Thumbs up Stalling because alternator too weak!

There is a TSB or technical bullitine simply stating the battery discgharges at idle. Not enough power from alternator at idle to power accessories. There isa recommended alternator up grade Denso 31400-59J00. This alternator provides enough power at idle and will not drain battery of electrical system. Hopefully this will solve your problems!:
