Code P0420?

Does anyone knows what code P0420 mean?

P0420 catalyst efficiecy below threshold.
likely needs a 3-way cat. converter.
may also be caused by faulty o2 sensor, exhaust leak, or fuel system problem.
depending on year, mileage & location, cats can be covered under warranty for up to 8 yrs.

My car is a '02 with 95,000 miles on it. I bought it 3 months ago so I do not know anything about the warranty. Also the computer is showing code P0442 that is related to the fuel cap.

I think that I will contact a dealership maybe they can help me to find out about the warranty ???
