Default side view mirrors not sturdy for highway?

as of last week BOTH of my mirrors have came loose due to wind on the highway. is this a normal problem with aerios? luckly there both still attached by the wires. I had to take some super industrial glue and put them back on in the middle of a cross country trip. the Dealer wants 250.00 each for these.

is there an easy way to fix this other then glue? (that i am going to have to chizel off when i go to paint the car.)

Aren't the mirris bolted to the door? I would take the door panel off and find the nuts are came loose (probably in the bottom of the door panel). Get some RED Loctite and apply liberally to the studs on the mirror assembly. Tighten up the nuts and you shouldn't have another problem.

there are three bolts that the housing attaches to the door. Two of them are at the outside that can be access by popping out the cover with a flat head screwdriver, the third is on the inside cover by a rubber cap (be careful as it can fall down the in the door panel, use a magnet to draw it out when loose). Put a towel as it drags hanging on by the power mirror motor wire. Now that it is upside down you can see three screws that connects the mirror housing and the pivot, they may be loose as the cause of woobly mirrors. Apply some Loctite and put every back together and that should stop the wooble.
