Default Airbag light came on. How can I shut it off?

So my wife was driving are 06 aerio the other day and I was sitting next to her. We were joking around and I started to laugh at her and started to pound on the dash where the airbag is. About a minute latter said great now you made the airbag light come on.I can't believe me hitting the dash made the light come on, but it did. I tried to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and it still stayed on. The dealership said the only way you can get those to turn off is if you fix the problem. I can't believe that I could of broken anything. What should I do? The dealer also said that it would be 120 bucks to hook it up.

Thanks
Justind

Pounding on the dash won't cause the light to come on. You're case can be as simple as rezeroing the passenger's seat air bag system. Unfortunately, it can only be done at a dealer with their scanner, since generic scanners only read codes. Prices for the service will depend on the dealer. $120.00 seems a little steep.

I never thought that pounding on the dash would do it either, but thats the only thing that I did that I know would of caused it. What does or rezeroing the passenger seat air bag system have anything to do with hitting the dash?
Is there any poassiblity that the bags could go off? Or maybe not work?

Thanks
