Default 2003 Aerio Stereo Reset

I recently had work done on my engine from a Suzuki Dealer. They had to detach the battery. Consequently my stereo now blinks "SYS" and will not respond to the Power button which the manual instructs to do. I have heard that there is a code or somthing as part of an anti theft program. How do i reset my stereo?

P.S
...and no i didnt steal it

There is no reset or security code on Aerio's. If the sys message fails to go away when the key is turned on and then the radio you should disconnect and reconnect the battery yet again then retry the radio. If still not solved then time to replace the radio.

For what its worth, I have never seen a bad Aerio radio in the 5 or so years I been with Suzuki.

Take the + and - terminals off and short them together (away from the battery) and hold them for a minute. Then reattach the Positive then Negative. See wat happens. Yeah the Sys just goes away after touching the buttons or power what ever. No Key!!

could you elaborate on why you think shorting the + and - together might work?....have seen or heard of that working before?

just curious

Default Aerio Sterio

Yeah my Aerio's cd changer just stopped spinning the discs (and i know this one for a fact. i watched it while it tried - inside of cd player in view). now all it says when it tries to play them is "Er 3" and spits my cds out. and of course no one knows how to fix it. i'd rather keep the one i have and just have it fixed instead of having to get a new one. i like the factory look. seems like such an easy thing to fix. replace the cd player motor, if that's what it's called.

I have had this successfully fix Aerio and Forenze radios. It drains all the capacitors in the car and radio and then allows it to fully reboot electronically.

Unfortunately the CD player portion do not seem to respond well to this (as a fix won't hurt it though.).
