Default 03 Aerio - Temp/AC Malfunction - HELP!!!!

Hello all, I am new to this site. It's awesome.

I am having an issue with my AC all of the sudden. It's at 182,225 km (I live in Canada) and suddenly while the car is Idle/Neutral, the AC stops blowing. The air coming out doesn't decrease in output. Instead it just becomes warm. It will restart (cold as ice) after I accelerate within about 4 minutes. I also had the temp light come on once (it was flashing) for about 10 - 15 sec's then disappeared when the AC output started again.

Does anyone have any advice or experienced this issue? I've called Suzuki and the gentleman at the local dealership hadn't heard of this problem, so I'd like to do some checking myself.

I appreciate any and all postings.

On a side note, I am the only owner of this car...bought it new (last manual in Ontario, Canada for 2003). For any new Aerio owners, its been a great car....virtually Trouble Free with the exception of brakes/tires. I haven't had any issues within the last 5 years and as you can see by my mileage, I drive quite a bit. Unlike the Swift (which is/was Daewoo) the Aerio is completely a Suzuki product. My only desire for the car would've been AWD with manual which they've started offering with the Aerio's replacement the SX4.

Hey, Hi, You’re Not Alone, I'm Having The Same Problem With My Car A Silver 2003 Suzuki Liana Glx / Aerio Sx Automatic And Not 4 Wheel Drive. The Miles On The Car Is 063249 Or 101828 Km.
The Dealer Replaced The Ac , And Then They Replaced The Ac Cycle Switch. That Worked
For About 30 Mints Lolo, I Called The Dealer And They Said To Bring The Car Back Right Away. The Dealed Decided To Discharge The Ac And Put In A Green Dye, Then Let Me Drive It Until Tuesday When I Will Have The Ac Checked Again For Any Leaks. The Dealership Feels That There Might Be A Small Leak In The System That Does Not Let The Ac Stay Long Enough For The Ac To Work. They Also Told Me That When Driving The Car At A Higher Rpm While Ac Is On, The System Is Letting Whatever Ac It Has Left In The System Come Through The Car And When The Car Is In Idle The Ac Will Turn On And Off. I Will Fill You In More When I Bring The Car In, To Help You And Your Local Dealership. Also The Dealership That Is Working On My Car Is Paul Blouin Suzuki In Augusta Maine.

Hi....thanks for your reply. At first after reading another thread I thought it might be the Air Compressor. However, I decided to look at the Coolant container (overflow) when the car had the temp light stay on this time and it was Empty...to my horror. However, for a brief moment I was perplexed as I'd just had an oil change 2 months prior (only drove 2,000 km since then) and the car tuned up at Suzuki 2 wks prior.

I think while it was there, someone may have leaned on something. In anyevent, I discovered TONS of coolant fluid on the bottom of the plate under the engine and a small leak from, what I believe is, the rad hose. Unfortunately, I can't drive it to the dealership now so I am going to tow it on Monday with CAA (great membership to have (AAA - in the US). I just hope this hasn't damaged the engine.

Figures, 3 more payments until I owned it outright I'll let you know what they say. But it sounds like you may have a leak like I do.
