I bought my Aerio new and have 19,000 miles on it. When it had approximately 7,000 miles I started to notice some tire wear in the middle. Now they are completely bald, but just in the middle, has anyone else had this problem. I take it back to my dealer next week to have the tires checked. It also has been making a noise like I have a flat tire. Any good comments? Thank you.
My back tires wore out at 5,000 miles. When I rotated them at 7,500 as reconmended by Suzuki I saw the inside worn badly. I do not live near a Suzuki dealer so locating one was hard. I called the main Suzuki America number and was directed to one 300 miles away. Called them and was directed to one 190 miles away. So I called them and they did not know of any wear problem and to have my alignment checked. This was over a 4 month time frame and now the tires on the back were wearing badly. I found out that there was a factory problem with the rear alignment. So I called Suzuki America again (5th 0r 6th call by now) and was told they knew of the problem and had to have my Suzuki dealer look at my car. At this point I was given a dealer closer than 190 miles. Only 90 miles. I called them and explained the tire wear problem and asked they have 4 tires ready for replacement at the time of replacement. 2weeks later they called and said they were ready for me. I drove on bald tires to the service department. I spent 3 hours there only to be told they did not have tires on hand and were only going to replace the rear tires because I did not have any proof I had rotated the back to the front at 7,500. I did it myself. So I am a liar as far as Susuki is conserned. They suck!!!!!!
There is some alignment issues in the model which should be OK by '06 but a check isnot out of the equation.
However with on Middle of the tire wear you have your tires over inflated. Check you gage and inflate to the specs on the door.

..... The only way that you'll have tyre wear in the middle is if you have the tyres over inflated.... any query re alignment would show tyre wear to one side of the tyre..... not in the middle...
I swear suzuki has stock in rubber. I have this same problem with my 06 aerio. The initial tires that came with the car where yokohomas they lasted till i think around 10,000 miles and i really shoulda changed them at 8,000 i bet because at 10,000 they where like racing slicks lol. Then i put on hankook tires and so far so good im at between 48,000 and 50,000 havent checked this week. I need new tires in about a month or 2 for the winter but i got 38,000 outta these even though they where rated for 50,000. Now my buddy has the same year and make as my aerio and he continued to use the yokohomas and he is on his 3rd set at around 35,000. So I recomend the hankook. There around the same price as the yokohomas i believe i payed 100 dollars each at pep boys for them. Why did suzuki have to put the 195 55 r15
tires on the 06 lol there a fortune. Also has anyone here had any luck with not using the recomended tires. Because besides for looks i guess i dont see why this car really needs this tire.
All the manufacturers are using lower and lower profile rubber for man reasons but mostly appearance. Heck a smaller rim with taller tire would be lighter and more fuel efficient.
As far as OE tires. YUCK... My 2000 Esteem had RE92 Bridgestones that had a treadwear rating of 180. You can get better stuff that will last longer.
On an Aerio just get it re-aligned with the latest a greatest specs with new tires if you have not already and you should do just fine.
My 04 Aerio SX still has the original tires at 44,000 miles . I'm going to replace them soon for winter but they probably have another 5000 miles left in them . There must be an alignment problem if you are wearing out tires at 7000 miles ; or you're rally racing !!

I have a 06 aerio with bad tires too. I agree with the crapping tire size. You can't get a good all season tire in the 55 series. I did talk to a shop that said going to a 60 series wouldn't make that big of a difference and that if I wanted to he would put them on for me. (some shops won't.) I read somewhere on here that someone did put a 60 series tire on and that at 70mph the odomiter was only off by like 2 mph, and there might of been a little rubbing too when turning sharp. But I am going to go with the 60 series. Its going to save me about 18 bucks a tire and I will be able to get a better all season tire. BTW the tires I am going to get are some Kumho tires.
Kumho is a good tire brand in my opinion my girlfriend has them on her 97 altima. about 25,000 miles later still looking good. When u get the new tires on your aerio let us know how it works out. If all is good i will be maing a switch aswell.
