Default 05 Aerio SX popping noise

When taking off from a dead start in 1st gear I hear a popping noise comming from the drivers side front. I jacked the car up so that the drivers side front tire was off the ground and I visually checked the CV boots and looked for any loose hardware and everything looked fine. This noise also happens on aggressive braking or upon letting off the gas in 1st gear while at approx 10-15 mph.

You may wast to have your Brake Pads checked, that type of noise seems to occur when the pads are work.

just finished changing the brake pads and took it for a spin......no dice popping still there...the popping sound is fairly deep, it has a structural/frame kind of pop to it eminating from the front drivers side tire area. I'm thinking maybe the strut or compression spring but I'm only guessing....Im gonna see if it does it in reverse with a quick start and stop

This popping noise is probably referred to by the following TSB:
Aerio 02 03273 Popping Noise on Slight Turns 2002-2003 3/27/2003

1 P/N 45110-54810 - Knuckle Set, STE (stops here so this is probably a longer name)
1 P/N 45150-54810 - Knuckle Set, STE
2 P/N 43440-54G00 - Bearing, Front W

That took care of the popping noise.

Our Aerio is a 2005. Do you know if this TSB applicable? Did you have to pay for your repairs?

Should be the same.... and no, the repairs are not free.
TSB is just technical service bulletin which lets repair facilities know
that the problem exists and what the symptoms are and actions taken to
correct it.
