In my car search, I drove an Aerio just to say I drove it so I could cross it off my list. Problem is that I liked it a lot based on the test drive and it's one of the cars on my short list. If I buy one of these, what can I expect?
I see one thread where a guy had a bunch of problems by 33k miles, another whose engine died at 39k. Is this is what I can expect? Or are there a lot of people who love their Aerios but just aren't very vocal about it?
To me, besides my concerns about reliability, the biggest knock against the Aerio is that I think it would look better being driven by a 25-year-old than by a 42-year-old fart like me. But I love the room, the stereo, the engine power and the neat little bins under the trunk floor. It's a very practical car.

You can expect a fun peepy car with its own unique style, plenty of features usually offered as options.

We all love our car, and the ones with failures are just mad cause the fun ended. And really those dissatisfied customers are few and far inbetween. The car is great, and the warranty is great...so great that alot of forum talk is mostly nit picking that most of us have accustomed ourselves to doing cause of the great warranty. The worst thing about the car is service at multidealer service departments where the technicians arent trained about Suzuki like one would expect. If your purchasing at a stand alone dealer the experience/service should be much better.

Oh yeah, its very reliable, Im able to make it to work daily.
Im 32 and feel/look 25(maybe its the car?)...but Ive made it a hobbie/pastime of spotting Aerios, to tell you the truth(it surprises me) I see lots of white haired drivers behind the wheel...and thats 80% of the time.
If you dont have to have the AWD option, your reliablity factor increases greatly Now go buy your car!
I have had absolutly no problems with my 03 Aerio and it has 30000 miles on it. I know its not a lot but I also know alot can happen in that few miles.
P.S. It is for sale
I love my SX I can't part from it I have a couple of pics here and there. I replaced my front brakes and wheels but that was my fault I was driving on a bad wheel alighment and balded a couple of wheels and permature brake useage. I replace my sound system with new Kicker speakers all around and a 12inch L5 solo sub. And I tinted my windows then replace my tires with 20 inch rims but that was short lived due to bad fitment so I.m in the process of getting 17 inch passion Tenzo rims which are going to look hard.
I hate it when people ask me How's you like that Scion or Toyota Matrix

Well, here in the plains of Texas, no AWD required.
I've also been considering a Reno, and there is much more chatter on that board. Part of that, no doubt, is that Forenza is on the same board and Suzuki is selling a boatload of those lately. They are very common around here in Texas. The other part is that a lot of the Forenza talk is about tuning, etc. They talk about exhausts and pulleys and intakes and all that. They have a car that only has 126 hp and only gets 22/30 mpg, so they need to work on their engines, I suppose. (I'm not knocking the car, really; even with those limitations, it is still a wonderful car to drive.)
Maybe the lack of chatter here means that Suzuki nailed the design of the 05 Aerio and nothing else needs to be done. (Personally, I'm not a fan of the black rear window surround.) The one and only Aerio SX that my local dealer has comes with the SWT package, and it looks pretty sweet. I would love the car, except it's red, just like my current car, and I've kind of vowed to try a different color this time.

Think of it as a compliment, since most people have a favorable impression of those cars.
I think the xB is ugly as sin outside but really nice inside. If I end up buying that, it's only because my son pushed me into it. I started my search with the xA as the target car, but I've since decided it's too small and rides too rough. I tried the Matrix and found it to drive like a minivan or SUV. It sits very high and road roughness gets translated from up-and-down motion to a forward-and-back gallop. So when they accuse you of driving one of those cars, rest easy in the knowledge that you have a great looking car that's also a pleasure to drive, unlike those Toyotas.
I have the 04 Aerio LS and I LOVE the cool digital dash. I think it is way easier to glance at when trying to race or when you spot a cop, because there is no miss reading it or guessing involved. Just big digital numbers beaming at you, glowing with excitement saying, "Faster, faster!" I also think if you are going to get the 05, you should deffinately get a better spoiler than what they tried to put on those things. They should have just taken the 04 spoiler, and raised it up a little, or something in that nature. Maybe do something like what they did to the lancer MR. With the big spoiler and the cool wind thing on the top of the car. They also need to take the AWD and put some package together so you can get 17" rims, way nicer tires, and disc brakes all around. Also, some more HP and TQ would be a cool GT type thing, no? Maybe put it into the 175 HP X 170 lbs/ft? It would really help the car sell. I know I'd trade mine in for it within a couple of months of saving up for another down payment. If anyone has any ideas for thei dream Aerio GT for 06 or 07, lets hear them. You never know who from Suzuki is listening.....

Dude, youve read waaay too many reviews, dont let the critics tell you what to think...the digital dash is friggin cool...and everybody(thats right everybody) who sees it comments on it, and for the life of me cant figure out why anybody would chose analog...I mean really, do you shop for gas from places with the old analog pumps? For conveinince and easy to read watch do you chose analog? Analog really?
