Well sadly, the average lifespan of a automotive headlight bulb (not the long life variety) is only 200-300 hours. If you drive an hour a day and your headlights are always on, well, that's less than a year. Now, the daytime running lights on the Aerio (and most other cars) are run at a lower voltage, so they say it doesn't not affect the lifespan of the bulb that much. But it's still using up the bulb's life as compared to being totally off. And on my Aerio, I can barely tell the difference between the DRL and the fully on headlight, at night. So the voltage can't be that much lower. I am going to disable my DRL's one of these days... About 2/3 of my driving is done in daylight, so I can get much more life out of the bulbs.
