i agree with phataslaya if your car is lowered they will most likely rub, and let me just point out the sound of tire rubbing sounds horrible...=/

Hey Dan, It's just my opinion that the 18's may be a little too extreme for the type of car we own. The 17's seem more practical since they will allow you room to lower the vehicle in the future. No doubt that the 18's will deliver a slightly more dramatic punch but you should weigh the pros and cons for your application. I tend to go with the solution that leaves my options open. You'll be more constricted with the 18's. ie. tyre selections from diffrent manufacturers, clearance height should you decide to get a matching turbo gas struts matched with lowering springs, etc. Remember that 1 decicion may have a myriad of consequences. But, ultimately, it's your decision, if it makes you happy, then hey. ----Ed

I have 17's with 205/45/17 and I get a little bit of rubbing in the back when i have 2 people sitting in the back (mind you i do have the car lowered quite abit and the subs and meth injection being in the trunk dont help either).

Oh yeah, the car can definitely go lower (probably wouldnt since the bumps here are pretty big and i've already scraped a couple of times). Once i've got the whole engine rebuild finished and everything running good im probably going to lower it more (as low as i can without rubbing and scraping while driving). Yeah your right, its got a 1 inch lip on them so they do look slightly smaller. I mean you could always go with 18's and just get a lower profile tire. If you search online you can find the tire size calculator, basically you put you stock size tires on and select either 17 or 18 or whatever size rim you want and it will tell you what size tire to get that will be closest to stock overall radius (rim and tire together). If the roads there arent too rough i'd go 18 with a lower profile tire and get a nice lip on them
