Default Emergency brake adjustment

I have a 5 speed 04 Optra 152,000 km's. Anyone ever attempt to adjust the emergency brake cable(s) on one ?
I have about 5" of play or so on the hand brake before it does anything. I'm hoping it's and adjustment and not replacement .
Thanks

I haven't tried on my 5-speed Forenza yet, but I remember tightening my old Eclipses E-Brake up by clicking the EBrake to the first knotch and driving in reverse about 20 feet or so and it tightened that thing up really tight, it was nice.

I have play in mine too so I might try this one day on my 'enza to see if it works.
