I'm going on my forth set of tires on the front of my 05 reno with about 50,000 miles.
Shouldn't tires last about 30,000 to 40,000 miles?
I even had an alinement done at about 40,000 yet the tires are still wearing out fast.
Should I try a different brand?
Thoughts?
That's what I'm thinking too!
They are stock size Kumho tires,I get them from the dealer because they were the cheapest.
every tire dealer in town wanted $100.00+ each dealer beat them by thirty buck.
So to answer your questions.....
The roads are good,I don't do burnouts in it (it's a reno after all) most of my driving is on the interstate.
also had the alinement done at the dealer.
yea, unfortunately the stock kumho tires are a little less than average. I hate to say it, but the ever common adage "you get what you pay for" pops up here definitely.
I suggest getting BFGoodrich tires or something... theyre not bad

Thanks....I was afraid maybe there was something wrong with the front end.
The photo above was one of my last set before the ones I have now,I just let it go as long as I could
because I didn't have the cash for new tires.
At the tire dealers they want to sell me a high performance tire (v rated) because of the 55 series that come on the car,
I just want a normal tire,I'm 42 years old with two teenagers....I don't do any street racing any more.
Thanks for your help.
I'll tell you what we all learned. DUMP THE STOCK KUHMOS WITH IN % MILES OF BUYING IT!
They are tires in the sense that they are round, and might be rubber. They don't grip on the dry, let alone the wet or the pain.
You don't need the high performance soft tires, but get a good all weather tire. Remember, you literally are using them to keep you safe. Don't need to over spend, but you may not to go cheep either. Depending on your area, you may not need snow or ice, but everywhere gets wet, and there is always some one who cant drive in the wet.
thats my $0.02
Also, make sure your using the proper inflation. Is it the same side that this happens on?
traction t/a's is what I run, the roads/conditions are horrible here and they do very well on all my cars.. Give them a try also, check the alignment/tie rods stuff like that.. You shouldnt go thru tires like that.. good luck i feel your pain man

There's no way it's because they're cheap tires.
He's going through a set of tires in around 10k miles. I get 8-12k miles on COMPETITION tires and that includes several track weekends where you literally see the rubbed peeling off after each session.
Somethings wrong with your car. Is it just the front that seams to be burning up the tires or is the rear just as bad? Any unusual signs...vibrations, shaking, heavy wandering...?
Also, $100 a tire is way overpriced. Hell even $70 a tire, especially for the factory one's overpriced. The best track tires you can legally and safely drive on the street you can get for $360 shipped to your door in the factory size. Sorry I only know performance tires. haha. You should be able to get decent tires for $50 a piece locally...if you can't then find them online and print it out (with shipping) and take it to discount tire and they will match or beat the price.
yeah speaking of tires I got some real good ones for not too bad of a price. stock size General Exclaim UHP very excellent 'bout $100 buck CAD a tire when all is said and done.
The stock tires are very soft and didn't last very long for me either, although tire pressure is a more likely cause of blowout like the picture you showed.
