so what are the best specs for 18" wheels as in tires size, offset, etc to avoid completely rubbering anything in our cars?

Offset only depends on the width...a 15x7 and 18x7 would have the same fitmit with the same offset. Now a 18x7 and 18x7.5 would be different..on a stock heith forenza/reno or one with only lowering springs it wouldnt make much of a difference with a couple mm here or there.

The biggest heighth and width wheel I'd fit if you plan on lowering the car is 18x7.5...you could get away with a 225/35/18 tire at the widest. The side wall has to be a 35 though. If you went with something 195 or skinnyier a 40/18 might be better than a 35/18. The sidewall number is a % not a measurment.

so you are saying :the 18" X 7 or 7.5 using (195/205/215)/35/18 Tires Would fit without rubbering anything on our cars? sorry for the recap, But I think it would be cool to not have more ambiguity in the subject and a statement is post to new and old readers searching in the 18 Wheels installation.

Yes..if you get the right offset. What I'm saying is the width is what changes what offset you need for the fitmit. For example 7.5" wide (weather it be a 15, 16, 17, or 18" wheel) offset is probably best at around +45 while a 7" wide wheel (weather it be 15, 16, ect) offset is probably best at around +40. The offsets that I just stated are either damn close or dead on for fitmit...but I can't be sure.

With 1.6" drop or less the biggest wheel tire combo you could go is a 18x7.5 w/ a 225/35/40 tire. At this fitmit you're offset will proabbly have to be dead on perfect for no rubbing. Also it is probably possible to fit a 8" wheel but that would require some test fitting or good calculations to figure out what would work.

I think the biggest offset I've have seen for wheels that fit forenzas/optras is 42 -45, I am getting Motegi Racing in 18" I already have 17" the offset is 42 all cleared., I really wanted to make sure I don't rub a thing going up one inch.
