If you are that concerned about country of origin, why didn't you check that before they were installed? Just because a company is based in one country doesn't mean all of it's products are made there. Toyota is a Japanese company and many of it's vehicles are built here in the U.S. Would you buy American Racing wheels? Despite the name, and the headquarters in California, most of their wheels are made in China or Indonesia. I have a Hankook tire here that is also made in China by a Korean company.
If you asked where they were made and were told Korea I would agree that you were duped. If you didn't ask, it's your fault and a stupid reason to say you'll never buy Kumhos again.

Yikes! A little harsh aren't we?

Yes, I could have checked ahead of time, but I'm not sure how I would have done it. A friend of mine owns an independent auto repair business. He ordered the tires in special for me and I didn't actually see them until they were installed. We both were under the impression that they were Korean. (My Kumho spare is.) He's a good guy and is trying to make an honest living, so I'm not going to make a stink. Like I said, knowing where they were made, I just don't plan to buy those tires again.

I didn't mean to come across that harsh but I still don't see why you won't buy Kumho tires again. Yes, some are made in China, but some are still made in Korea. If you stopped buying from companies that did any business with China or any other country you don't agree with you would be very limited in your choices. I'm not defending China's politics, I just think it seems like a trite reason.

I mean to didn't say I wouldn't buy anything from Kumho, just this particular model . . . (or any other Chinese product from them). I'd be happy to buy Korean . . . at least SOUTH Korean . . . Maybe I should have been more specific.

I'll agree with you there. I'm pretty sure when they say made in Korea it is South Korea. Living and working conditions are so bad in the north they wouldn't be able to make anything close to the quality the south has.
