we have a big police presence in England around the car scene. the thing is, if your doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. i also found that if you do get pulled, be polite, ok the officer could be trying to be the biggest cock in the world, but so long as your polite, he'l soon come off his high horse!
raceing around shopping centres and town centres is just asking for trouble, theres people and other cars you can hurt and damage. a few people have already said in here that they push you on the outskirts of the town and they wont bother you there, so if your going to do it, why not start there in the 1st place?
Theyve been doin it for about 4 or 5 years now so if its entrapment no one has tried to get it shut down. All they did was push all the street racing to the side of town that the cops aren't on (which is the side that doesnt have the mall and other high traffic spots)
I most people don't know what entrapment is let alone challenge such a thing.
thanks for everyone's responses... as far as the undercover cop thing goes, i dont really think i see it as entrapment simply because we're "not suppose" to be racing in the first place lol...and i LOVE the fast & the furious movies...
From wikipedia:
Entrapment is the act of a law enforcement agent inducing a person to commit an offense which would be illegal and the person would otherwise have been unlikely to commit.[1] In many jurisdictions, entrapment is a possible defense against criminal guilt.
Yes street racing is illegal, but if an undercover cop encourages you to race, its entrapment.

think half of it is to do with showing off!
FYI most of us on this forum live in the US and have to put up with US cops who tend to be not as nice as UK cops.

Yeah it talked to my uncle (he's a cop here in IL) he said they were doin the undercover thing for about 2 1/2 years but they got shut down bc too many people kept getting the tickets thrown out and one of the "stops" resulted in a very serious accident. Now the cars are used to intercept excessive speeders and motorcycles. (except the eclipse which was totaled in that accident)

Im aware of that and i heard about how some do think they ARE the law over there... but 'some' are still human beings and if you spoke to them politely, im sure it would ease your situation!
We had something similar happen here in the past. Cops bust the main tim hortans in Woodbridge about 2 years ago. Then they tried to come up with a law to stop all car modifications from body work to engines (thankfully the aftermarket industry here challenged the law and the logic behind it). It interesting as the cops want to stop street racing but all they do is push the races to other spots. I've got a sugestion open up a few mroe tracks and lower the admission fee as well as make it open all week. But no thats thinking and the cops would not make their quota.
the cop was probally pissed that they were blocking the doughnuts and coffee, us, uk, canada all cops like coffee and doughnuts i think its a job requirement. any way i agree on the track, give people a cheep safe spot to race and everone but the REALLY stupid ones will race on the track if any thing to avoid spending money on tickets and the pigs. Shit, i would love a good place to go and beat the shit out of the Klown Kar. that way if i screw up (won't happen, insert a hint of sarcasm) its just on me and no one else at risk
