200 People Go Down....

KENT, Wash. - Kent police say 80 people have been arrested and 37 vehicles stopped in a raid on street racing.

Officer Paul A. Petersen said racing was noticed shortly at 12:10 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of a business with "no trespassing" signs.

Kent police and state troopers stopped all 37 vehicles at the scene and arrested everyone present. Four people have been jailed for investigation of drunken driving and four were arrested for reckless driving and racing.

All 80 were given tickets for trespassing and attending illegal races. Several citations also were issued for driving on a suspended license.

Six cars and a motorcycle were impounded.

Police say none of those arrested are from Kent.





......I live in Kent....Apparently 200 people were detained the night after...Now someone tell me how we have cops that are bored enough on a friday night to detain 200 people and the night before arrest 30 of them??

damn that sucks...the town i live in has the highest officer to citizen ratio in the state and i dont think they even get that bored here

I think i have it lucky. i once pulled up and passed a cop on a motorbike. limit was 45 mph and i was comeing up doing 60. i passed him and my passenger said it was a cop so i slowed down waved and he just waved back. they only watch racers around here at the begining and end of the month to get quota but i guess its all in what mood they are in right?

Couple times on my way home from work, a police car would get behind me and would start to 'push' me to go faster. I go about 8mph faster and he doesn't pull me over. We got to a stop I pulled the california stop cause he wasn't stopping behind and me and we past the police station and he goes inside. I guess he really wanted to go home after a rough day. Let me tell you, I was kind scared that he might pull me over.

Couple weeks ago a cop came up FAST next to us while I was in my buddy's car. The cop slammed on the brakes as his front end was at our front fender and got behind us immediately. He tailed us for about 1/2 mile then went back to the lane he originally was in and turned off.
