Default 2007 Civic Si

I don't usually post in here about "encounters", but this is the first one in a while and its a decent car.

Civic Si = 197hp @ 7800rpm & 139lb-ft @ 6100rpm

vs.

Turbo Optra on medium boost = 202whp (approx 230 crank hp) @ 5800 & 190 (wheel) lb-ft @ 4600rpm

I'll start by saying I instigated from the beginning lol . Saw a black Si waiting to make a left onto the road I was driving on, so I slowed down and waited for him to slowly catch up. Its a semi-highway with nice open stretches and smooth pavement, so I frequent the area often

Ofcourse he didn't take a second look at my car, but I got his attention by blowing by him and letting off loud BOV right beside his car. Then he starts speeding up and following me. We come to a light, but somewhat busy intersection. We both roll off the line with me waiting for him to hit it first. Finally just after I shift into 3rd (thinking hes not going to go) and rpm drops to about 3500 (~70km/h) he decides to downshift and go full out. Instantly he got a car length while I just hit the gas and waited for boost to do its job lol. By end of my third gear (~140km/h) I've made up the distance and about half a car in front. I went through part of 4th (~165km/h) and pulled another 3/4 car length on him before he gave up

After that he stayed far back and wouldn't come up beside me again LOL , and then turned off shortly after. Beating him just made my day a little better and I thought I would share.

Nice job. I actually thought the Si would have the edge over you even with less hp due to the VTEC and the other engineering stuff in it. Because I remember reading about the newer Si's having the K series engines that are suppose to be the best VTEC engines and suppose to be really fast. But I guess not at least at stock. lol

I wonder how well your car does against a 2008 Impreza WRX. The specs as are follows:

- 2,457 cc 2.5 liters horizontal 4 front engine with 99.5 mm bore, 79.0 mm stroke, 8.4 compression ratio
- Power: 167 kW , 224 HP SAE @ 5,200 rpm; 226 ft lb , 306 Nm @ 2,800 rpm
-Weights: curb weight (lbs) 3,142

Because if your max boost is any where near 230HP, I have to say it would be one very interesting match up. Assume your max boosts gets you in the ball park of the WRX numbers power wise.

I haven't tried the new WRX, but the previous ones if they are stock or lightly modded I can easily take them from a roll. Not off the line tho lol.

My "high" boost mode is 214whp so that is around 246hp at the crank, so given my cars weight which is much lighter that the WRX I don't even need high boost to beat it lol.

Hey bro i just got done looking at youtube vids of your car. I gotta say it sounds delicious! Gotta love the spool and BOV. I would love to run you in my Teg, i think we'd be pretty close since i take rsx-S and si's all the time.
but mad props on your Forenza, I would love to get mine on that level but only when (or if) they make a <$3k bolt on kit.

Thanks man. I haven't posted any driving or flyby vids with the new turbo yet, weather has been too cold and no time lol.
