your refering to the dc2. called a type-r in america but not actually a true type-r it had a diferent motor. the japan type-r motor wouldnt even run correctly on us gas as its made to run on i think 102 and we only have 97. i believe the top end of the motor is different also the cams, springs and everything else. the throttle body is different i believe the jdm one is a little bigger. also the intake manifold is smooth inside as oposed to the us version wich had ridges in it. a nice replacement is the intake manifold from the jdm b16a wich was the engine found in the civic and crx sir as it was also smooth inside. also the japan made type-r has the tradmark red sparco racing seats, carpet, door card inserts and it wears the red honda badge only found on the type-r not to mention the steering wheel is different and also has a red h bagde on it and red stiching also found on the shift bood and e brake boot. i think the steering wheel shift and ebrake boot also came with yellow stiching. it produced i think 5 or so more horsepower. people in the us all wanted to get there hands on the jdm b18c (it had a red valve cover) for a boost in power and the stronger internals. hm long enough just some examples of the differences. oh the dc2 was also the only car sold under the type r badge in america accept it was sold as an acura.
Okay okay, well then it was a dc2... all I know was it had the "bug eyes" and had a type r badge or sticker? the exterior was either black or a dark blue.

if the integras are kept up and have been modified they can be fast. on the other side if there not taken care of they can suck. just like the civics though you gotta be carefull cuz you never know whats under the hood. maby soon well find the right combo for our cars and be able to beat the acuras and hondas. we'll have to see what kind of #'s tallkid comes up with when he gets his new motor in.
Besides motor wise I am also interested in what type of race we can beat such cars in. I don't think we can beat them in drags, as something like the Honda CRX is light alright and one that is gutted weights like nothing and put a VTEC engine in it with turbo and I don't think there is no way we can compete. But go to a track course, and I think we have a chance of winning if not kicking butt.
I tried messing around with an '90s-era Acura on the freeway one night just to see what would happen. It's possible the driver wasn't going full out - but that's kind of hard to believe - because I was able to stay in front by a nose before it slowly started gaining on me. That one definitely was the faster car, for sure, though.
I've discovered that so long as it's going, the car can keep up if not spank some cars out there that you may not think it could...
Well it can beat an SC1 ... it had exhaust intake and throttle body... Automatic tho..
Check it out my home town is on the net for some races... theres a pretty wicked evo driver I met tonight at the spot.. go to streetfire.net and search Lima Street Racing and you will see it its the silver one, the blue one sucks.... Btw with my intake sound I managed to scare an srt-4 that I started messing with for sh*ts and giggles he took off and cut in front of me then slowed down he rev'r it and I punched it , he didnt follow.. Okay maybe he wasnt scared but Im wondering why he didnt follow.

The SRT-4 was playing around with you. I highly doubt he was scared of your car. I done and had similar things to other cars on the freeway here. The only cars I have been able to scare off was poorly modded civcs that thought they could take me on, but once I opened up they backed off.

This is all sorts of wrong
All 94-01 integra coupes are DC2's, Sedans are DB8's
the JDM type R will run just fine on 91&up octane I have a few friends w/ the swap in their civic hatches.
the USDM Type R is a "true type R" as you quoted... they were made in limited numbers and only in 1997,1998,2000,and2001
JDM type R motor has a 1.8L 210hp motor
USDM type R has a 1.8L 195hp motor. differences being compression ratio and ecu, and of course emmisions.
Besides the front ends, right hand drive, and the motor differences its the same car.
Here is a little info on the integra including the type R
Okay so driving around town looking for trouble when I hear a loud buzzing noise I find the source of it a acura integra type R so I was like screw it caught up to him and got a red light side by side so cool when that happens,
So I beep the horn to try and ask him what hes got done but he wont even look over, light turns green I punch it and get about four cars in front of him (hes not even trying ) right when I tap my brakes and start to slow down he punches it, so I get back on it and we were even right down the road for about 1/2 a mile then like a dumbass in the midst of all the fun I bounce off red line he only got a half car ahead of me and I was back with him.. all in all fun times.. my new cold air intake is helping allot. but later down the road Im guna go ahead and get the BMS intake, I just didnt want to becuuse its pretty pricey for intake (i did mine for 80 bucks) It looks a bit rough but it works (no leaks or anything)....
He was obviously just playing around especially since you said it was modified.
I love my Forenza but I know that my Integra would smoke it.
stock vs. stock even a low model Integra LS would kill my Forenza.
I dont even try to race my Forenza, I just keep it looking nice.

ok everybody is an expert and everybody has a "friend of a friend" if you want the jdm type-r engine to run corectly and to its full potential you need to run it on the intended fuel rating wich is 102 or 104 octain wich we dont have there are tons more diferences than what you have stated. and im not wrong. i have done extensive research into hondas there motors models and the techs that build them and there break off companies and such. since this is not the point to this forum you can pm me and i would be more than happy to find you some usefull links and send them to you privatly
