I heard that I think in california if you are caught street racing they will take your car and crush it.. This to me seems like going a bit to far.. I understand its dangerous and innocent people get killed but I dont know to me it seems a bit harsh.. I guess some people dont learn by getting there L's taken but I dont know..
What do you guys think to harsh? Maybe they should just promote more track events where anyone can come out and race.. Like I saw on t.v. They started BEAT THE HEAT a chance for kids to come out and race on the track with cops... pretty cool..

In California if you are caught racing you get your license suspended, car impounded (I don't think they crush it), and possible jail time, as well as a huge fine. If you get caught watching a street race you may face jail time and will get a nice size fine.
I do think it is a bit harsh and I understand why they made the law as such. But there seems to be no willingness to setup more racing venues around here. The closes track to me is a good hour away and that is a bit of a drive just to race legally.
Not what I heard on STREET TUNER CHALLENGE on the speed channel.. They said they impound it and crush it, but I dont know.. if its true thats crap.
I think they crush it if you get caught racing more than once, but I haven't heard of it happening around my area. It was rumored that they where doing this in San Diego that they where doing this because street racing was getting out of hand there.

Ah yes, the hard hitting, news gathering agencey, the Speed Channel. No fact is randomly thown out there, and no bolstering of egos by people who think NOS is the best way to get speed, and that you don't need Zoom when your bass has plenty of boom. Oh no
Yeah don't trust too much of what you hear on "Speed"...
RallyReady, don't you live in Ohio? I do as well, and there are not many tracks in Ohio besides drag tracks, and Mid-Ohio track in Dublin. Mid has something like a track day where you take a class on driving technique and spend 2 hrs on the track. They offer two versions, w/ own car or w/ provided car which, I believe is an Acura TSX-S... That's upwards of $1500... But if you are looking for somewhere to race check out Autocross, and Indiana... There are a ton of tracks in Indiana...
do they really have that authority to destroy property? rofl
thats like, throwing away twenty grand in my case anyways...
I highly doubt they crush your car; my neighbors drive a Corvette, and yes they like to race it alot. They have a bunch of tickets, but they never got their license suspended or their car destroyed. xD
