Default Modded 2003 Civic

After reading a few people's threads about street encounters, i have decided to post one of my own. :P

So a few years ago, i was driving my 2004 a/t stock suzuki forenza from high school towards home on a two lane(on each side) freeway. I was on the left side, cruisin around at about 70 mph. Out of nowhere, some suped up civic (body kit, lowered, and probably turbo/super charger) with like, two passengers inside, bolted past me on the right, probably at about 80.

So i said to my self; "what the hell, why not?" It was a straight stretch of freeway for about 3 miles, so i punched it full. to my amazement i caught up with them quite fast (i dont really remember how long it took; it was too long ago haha). the Civic driver noticed and decided to punch it at as well. at that point we kicked it at a start of about 80mph, and to my amazement i was making distance from the civic after ten seconds, me up front.

We ended up going about 105 mph before my off ramp exit neared up, so i turned my right signal on and merged in front of them. Obviously they were pissed at me, because they honked a little and flashed their brights over and over.

But in the end, i was victorious! :]

But i believe the only reason i beat them was due to the fact that they had more weight in their car, even though it was probably sport tuned.

And thats perhaps my only story with regards to street racing! :P

Where in California do you live? As far as your race went. My guess is that it was not a properly tune Civic, or it was a wanabe rice civic (meaning all show no go), or the guy stuck at racing.

If he had a turbo would would have heard it. As its kinda hard to not hear aftermarket turbos.

if there was a turbo or super involved, you would have lost.

like jurupa said, it's probably all show and no go...1.8 with intake and exhaust is my guess

Sounds like rice, and my guess it was. Such cars are easy kills for us.

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome. Orange County's like, a 25 minute drive from where i live.

Maybe we should create a Suzuki get-together at the mall or something...

Sounds like too much show to not have much go. Though again in Cali with emissions and all I bet there are more cars that have TONS of show and no go. Here in Arizona there are almost no cars that are done up decently or nice with lots of show and don't have at least a little something to back it up

i see cars in ny all the time that just have looks. some dont even have the exhaust done hondas are prety easy to turbo you can get lots of power from basically a stock motor. most people who do up hondas end up doing allot to them and get some good horsepower. the one you raced was prob just for looks maby hes not done....be carfull next time you see him

Thats basically correct. The other thing is what I call to put on a show, where the car sounds like it has something, but does not have anything really at all. I forgot when it happen but I was driving along and there was these two Mexicans in the car next to me. They obviously heard my car as they gun it and it sounded like they had something, but as soon as I gun it I zoomed past them in a matter of seconds. Once I did that they back off alright. I don't think they where expecting that lol.

Another thing that was popular until the $3+ gas prices, was the lifted trucks with cat backs for the deep sound from their v6 or v12 engines. I always have fun killing those unless they have turbos then I am done for. I I try to follow the medics truck from my work one night and lets just say in 10 seconds he was a good 5 car lengths ahead of me. Mind you the truck he was driving is an official fireman truck, so its uh modded lol.
