Last night coming home from work. I spoted this late 90's Civic that was kinda halling it on the freeway and I went to see if it want to go at it. It did and since the freeway was basically open I was able to floor my car.
In the end the civic was a good 3 car lengths back, and never stop trying to catch up. I even let the civic pass me at one point only to catch it again and pass it up.
I guess the guy thought since he had VTEC and a honda he could beat me.
Yea stock for stock you can kill a civic all day long. I ran my friends 03 stock SI 6 times and won all of them. Vtec is a hondas only hope in a race lol.
like i said in a previous thread about hondas, im not impressed with them. they take a lot of work to be fast. on the other hand, i heard that the new, stupid looking ones are pretty fast.

i think the new ones are about same speed as our cars....except the vtec ones which cost a hell of a lot more...I think it would come down to the driver in the end

SI
* 197-hp, 2.0-Liter K20Z3 engine
* Close ratio 6-speed transmission
* Helical limited-slip differential
taken directly from honda's website. i couldn't find a weight. i bet they're, if not really close, lighter than our cars. the base model has 160 hp in their 1.8L.
Sorry to confirm to you guys, a new Civic SI (the 197HP one) would destroy our cars stock, or even with a bunch on NA mods. Even the old Civic SI (with B16 - 1.6L DOHC VTEC - 160HP) would beat our cars. I know this for certain becuase I have friends with each of those cars. However, when it comes to other civics with D series motors......... they are pretty slow.

the older civics only have i think 108hp thats what my 90' was rated at. the new fit only has 97hp i think. the b16 is fast and can handle a ton of power the jdm b16 is an even beter motor. the new si is 197 but the mugen version coming out is around 200hp. the thing with hondas is you never know whats under the hood. b16, h22, k20. oh and the vtec does kick hard, it was a great invention.

I forgot about the B engine, becasue I mostly see the 4dr civics around and not the SI. And the only civics that have beat me where ones with major mods. Also I know the CRX is fast, but I never raced one, but I knew a guy that had one that was heavly modded (it was N/A but had cams and what have you). He even claimed to beat a lambo.

The new SI has the K series and when I scaned a honda forum (I was interested in some info on the Fit), people where already hitting 120 with ease stock. As far as the Fit is concern, I believe the people on the forum said there was not much room for upgrades and Honda never ment for it to be a fast car.
