we actually need more of an investment on our forenza's since the aftermarket support is no where near as large as it is for a civic.
But i'd say stock for stock its a driver's race. There's no way a forenza w/ just basic bolt ons would beat a turbo'd civic.
agreed. you can ebay any part for a civic and find it pretty easily...even pepboys carried a gang of parts for specific year/model hondas.

but if you know where to look, you can find anything for the reno/forenza as far as performance goes...if i didnt have a recent family issue, i'd probably have a 200+ hp reno on its way...and thats without boost, which means my powerband would be wider...so i could have most likely torn low boost turbo's apart. i stopped myself around 200 because of the trans. i could have gone for heads, cams, direct intake, methanol injection, etc and got to 250-300 pretty easily

If you are referring to 200whp I think you are underestimating the difficulties of making NA power. My good friend had a FULLY built B18 GSR with VTEC back in the day (2001)....... it revved to 9600rpm, had 13.5:1 compression, individual throttle bodies, significant head and valvetrain work, huge cams, a $1500 header, and full AEM EMS standalone. Many other smaller things like lightweight flywheel, rims, pullies, clutch, etc. At his very best he made around 235whp. The response was absolutely amazing and it was a very quick car (beating many domestics and other turbo cars) but it was loud, burned oil, and sacrificed alot the of comforts and drive ability of a daily driven car.

250 - 300 pretty easily? If you plan to drive the car on the street, I think not lol.

Not trying to knock you here, just want to give you an idea that its not as easy as you make it sound.

no dont get me wrong here. i guess i threw "easily" out there like it was no big deal...if you have money and know what you're doing, its possible. im just trying to make the point that the parts are out there. if you're willing to pay money, you can get the engine parts oversea...i remember someone had a link to a company that will rebuild and put high performance parts on the d-tec motors

Ya you most def. need money and knowledge to have a smooth running NA build car, that will beat turbos..

But I will say I watched plenty of NA hondas on you tube beating evo's srt4's and other stuff.. you got to think, you can find many parts for honda very cheap and there are just so many, plus with a very low weight, its really weight vs power and the lighter the better as long as you dont go so light the car turns into a death trap everytime you hit the gas, mad props to anyone making a four banger produce high hp's NA or boosted... in my opinion, one is no better then the other, its all about how deep your pockets are and how big your brain is..

126 to 200 hp thats a huge gain, RESPECT.
