the crx engine was rated at 108hp same d sieries non vtec. not very fast but handled great same exact car as the civic with a couple of differences. the fit wasnt meant to be peticularly fast it was built to compeat in a specific class sub compact maby, i forget the name. along with the yaris and a few others for time atack. the emphases was on handling more than speed. what people are doing with the fit is dropping in a k series. hasport either just came out with or are coming out with mounts for the swap
The CRX also weights next to nothing as well, so even without VTEC it would be fast with mods. But I kinda doubt it would beat a lambo without VTEC and major modding.
I did read some posts in the Fit section saying that they want to do a drop. And the class your thinking of is the B class.
its kinda funny how this thread started the other day...tonight i was driving to the store with my girlfriend and at a stop light some random flat black civic took off. it was too late for me to get a good launch, but i rode out 1st and 2nd to about 6k rpm and left it in my tracks. had to be that shitty D motor 'yall been talkin' 'bout. it had OE exhaust and intake, so i'm assuming the flat black was him trying to fit in with the street racer crowd...PWNT
To be honest if I had a civic id keep it clean with visual mods and not do much to performance probably, i think you can make them look slick and theres so many parts.. people around here just do CAI and a big exhaust, but there is one that is super clean looking with turbo and its pretty fast, I love hondas but I think some ricers are ruining the image..

The way I see it if you like the car enough then you can make it unique and more than likely make it a beast. Speeking of hondas, I heard that we can use acura integra CAI's like the INJEN CAI's wich are like the best out..

U probably raced a single cam (d-series) there is no way our Forenza would get a dual cam (b-series, K-series) civic unless it was seriously modified, the only way he had a DOHC Vtec in a late 90's civic would be if it was a 99-00si or if it had a motor swap.
As tallkid said about "making a monster out of anything" its just easier on a Civic b/c the aftermarket support is there.
I havent seen too much aftermarket support on the Forenza besides the guys on this forum (props for that BtW) so its just harder.
Suzukirallyready you cannot use an integra intake due to differences where the throttle bodies come off the intake manifolds. Although a d-series civic looks like it might.

It was most probably was a single cam. I have only raced one civic that I know for sure was a dual with VTEC. I lost to it by 2 and half car lengths from a rolling start. It was an early hatch, most probably an early Si hatch. I know it had a cat back and was lowered, besides that I have no idea what mods it had. I have CAI, cat back, and lowering springs. I do want to race other VTEC honoda's, but I don't see them that much anymore and most of the time they don't want to race.
