Default 07 Reno vs. Ford Focus

i was driving home from boyertown in PA, when this high school kid in a focus comes behind me. the highway i was on was two lanes, with the option to pass (dashed yellow line) was a little less than a quarter mile long. he rides my ass for a little before the change and when it did, he gunned it and took a hard left. i got pissed, cranked the stereo, and took off. he got half a car in front when my reno kicked into 4th, and then i i gained some more ground. i gradually got my lead back and took off. a couple minutes later, he pulled next to me at the light, his girl friend looks at me, and he flips me off. he turned at the next opportunity, and takes off.

I am a bit confused here. You where on a two way highway. A focus goes into the oncoming traffic lane and then tries to pass you, you on the other hand gun it leaving him stuck in that lane. You then some how come to a stop light and make faces at each other? Is this right?

So you left him stuck in the oncoming traffic lane while trying to pass?? And how did the stop light come into play on the freeway?

it was a two lane road, with a DASHED YELLOW LINE. that means you can pass by means of the opposing lane if you can pass safely. this road led to an intersection with a turn lane that lead to a major highway. this road isnt really considered a freeway, but has freeway in the name. it was a back road pretty much. sorry for the confusion

Not to condone road racing, but I have to say that once you get the Forenza (even my wagon) up to highway speeds, its actually very strong. Much more than I had expected. Then again, if the 2.0L wasn't good for American roads, then they might've just stuck us with the 1.8L engine they get in places like India I suppose.

Yeah, on the highway you can really punch it to pass folks. and if thats not enough, down shift for high rpm boost then zoom by and back in 5th.

at highway speeds(65ish) i usually drop it to 3rd when i really want to show them i'm not happy with them. 60 puts you right at the beginning of your powerband and you can hit 80 before redline. 4th goes just above 100 and i havent hit the top of 5th because i havent been on a long enough road...and i think drive-by-wire prevents me from going past 120

I'll try that when I'm in the city and need to pass someone. Usually when I hit the highway it's to go out of town and I usually cruise at 75-80. So dropping down th 4th usually gives me a good power kick and I just fly by everyone.

Yep. Drop with a rev to match power, and away we go!
