With some cars, you don't know what you can and cannot beat.
There are cars I already listed that would be a waste of my time to go up against. I know I can't keep up with my boyfriend's Dodge truck. I know I can't keep up with Lexus cars, even older models.
But I do know that I can keep up with or beat the V6 Hyundai Tiburon, certain BMWs, Fords, Hondas, Scions, Toyotas, etc.

That is what I have found as well. That its not really the price of the car is more what the car has that matters.

a v6 tib, really? i see them around here all the time but i always thought that they would smoke my ass so i never try.

Well, all I know is that the driver was trying desperately to keep up.. It was an interesting drive on the freeway. Boyfriend's driving, car loaded down with a ton of crap due to moving. We watch a Tiburon whiz past us with about three or four people. Because we used to do a lot of stupid things a year ago, my boyfriend guns it. We catch up to it easily. Thus launches a cat and mouse type of run. However, we're hitting past 120 and the guy can't keep up - for whatever reason.

I'm not sure what to think of that incident.
I've been chatting with someone with a 2004 KRD Tuscani Elisa - basically a racing version of the Tiburon. He mentioned that stock those V6 Tiburons gets 0-60 in about 7 seconds and commented maybe the driver just didn't want to deal with keeping up since the Tiburon's top speed is 137...

I never know what to think of my encounters where the car actually fares very well.
