Default 06 Optra vs 98 Civic SI

Ok I thought I'd post this up to see if my car can really do what it did or was it a fluke. I'm driving along and this lowered 2dr Si pulls up I think it was a 98 but i might be wrong. Usual mods for a civic drop and intake and a realy loud exhaust. Now I normaly don't race but this guy gives me the look and I see the highway is coming up so the light goes green and we both punch it I pull about half a car on him and then I slowly start pulling away. I was expecting to loose but I was more curious than anything else was this a fluke. All I got is a warm air (still working on designing a cold air intake system) and the damn car is auto. I was caught off guard. It was still fun though.

Two things. One I think the Civic may had mods slaped on it and was not thought out and tuned and therefore your car beat the crap out of it. The other is the driver could not race worth of dam. It could also be a combo of the two.

Possible rebadged. Could of been many things. I wouldn't try every Si around the block though

civics are very hard to judge. there's too many out there and only so many out there that are worth 2 shits. if done up right, they're pretty darn quick

O yea I am glad I thoght about this post. Me and my friend did race today he has a 03 Si stock. He only started pulling back on me when the Vtec kicked in. I pulled about a car on him up to 95-100 mph. It was a fun race.
