Reno v 2008 Eclipse

On the way home tonight I raced a brand new Eclipse (it had no plates). We started with cat and mouse which I killed the Eclipse in, but lost the race. Surprisingly enough I did not lose that badly. My front bumper basically stayed at the Eclipse's passenger door.

We only raced once as we ran into traffic and the Eclipse got in the car pool lane and took off. I don't think he wanted to race again even tho he won lol. As I don't think he was expecting me to be on him like that as it seem he thought he was going to kill my car.

I wonder if I had exhaust if I could beat him or been nose to nose with his car.

I blew by a tricked out yellow 350z on the freeway today. It looked lowered, aftermarket wheels, gauges on A-pillar etc.
Passed him doing 110 in the fast lane around a bend. He didn't like that much and swung over and coaght up to me. BTW the stock suspension gets a little unstable in the rear doing 110 around a curve with 15mph cross winds. The rear was dancing around enough to make me feel a little uneasy, but not enough to slow down...LOL!

thats probably the dumbest thing ive ever heard of someone doing. you're the reason police officers profile modded cars. take it to a track....a stock 350 would stomp all over our car, too. you made it seem as if you raced it and beat it.

Hell yeah it would, wish i could get my hands on a 350z.

08 Eclipse they are so sweet. I raced one just to see the car run. He must now have opend up on you that car pulls hard in high RPM range.

The Eclipse was stock and as far as I can tell he was opening up the car. My car is modded remember.

Not really. He was probably doing 85-90 in the middle lane and I was keeping pace with the car in front of me. In my area the fast lane of I75 usually reaches 95-100mph on a daily basis. The fastest freeway in Detroit is I696, where if you’re doing 90mph, you’re in the slow lane. I am NOT exaggerating. And I believe it's posted as 65mph. It's just how Detroiter's drive.

Also my car does not look modded, but the Z was and I was commenting on the fact that I was supprized at how fast he caught up to me. I am well aware of how Z's perform. I write Nissan service manuals.

On the other hand I have been very happy with the stock performance of the Forenza. I get good gas mileage and the car cruises very comfortably at 90mph. something me Chevy Trailblazer did not do as well and cost more in gas.

9 times out of 10 it was the GS model with the 2.4l Cyl ( 162hp 162 tq) at 4068lbs its a turd. Now if it was the v6 263hp he or she would have killed you Modded or not. Stock it runs low 14 vs low 15 modded unless someone has timeslips to prove otherwise, if so i maybe wrong

yeah i get beat by thos gs models all the time theres no way a forenza can keep up past third but wit catback and cai i smoke civics with the same mods all the time no comp by the way has any body seen those new lancers not an evo but just the lancer i raced one the other day and i beat him but i think he was auto becouse if he had been using those new magnesium padle shifters he would have stomped my A$$
