Default Track Day reveiw

Was an interesting day. I was in the yellow group, AKA n00bs. Had 2 sets with an instructor to help get down how to drive the line, then one on our own, before I had to leave.
The wholetime, my car felt like the back was trying to force me off line. That and tire spin were the big things I noticed out there. Half the time, I felt all my power spinning a wheel rather then helping in the corners, then a noticable grab.
As for the rear forcing me off line... Its a fairly new feeling, so after the third run, I glanced under the rear ofthe car.... and found whats wrong. My Passager rear sway bar mounting (hope that makes sence) was broken. Broke off before I got there. Just hanging there, swaying in the breaze. So the whole time, I was running with no rear swaybar. Time to see what deawoos I can grab parts from.

As for the track day, It was weird to have to wave a Masiradi around to pass.
Got to see a Viper GSR and a Ford GT up close. Same guy owned both. Five or six Lotises, a ton of WRX and LanEvos. I was the first Zuki, but thats not hard

That sucks big time with the sway bar. Hopefully your still under the warrenty with BMS.

As far as the track racing its self, it sounded like fun until the sway bar thing. And it seems you where way out classed with higher end cars to say the least. But what where peoples reaction to you showing up at the track? Where they surprise and ask questions or ignore you as you have a sub 20k car?

Usually at track days theres plently of cars in the same price range of ours.

About the rear sway bar...I had to run a track day without it once. Think kept flipping around and rubbing on my brake lines for some reason we never figured out so I took it off.

Hope you had fun! should sign up for CA speedway the 17th ish this month! I'll be there...providing my body kit gets done...they promised it would be several times. If not they owe me the damn money for the track day.

I'll be working that weekend. The Speedway is a Red only. Reds can pass any where. They where running 'vettes, Vipers/Ford GTs, a Noble M12, Porches, Lotis'es, and a Subie or two, including a WRX wagon that sounded mean

SpeedVentures - Track Events for Everyone! See all the cars listed, but no listing in what group they ran

In your group they were running that?

I looked at the list, wtf...is that all the cars? In all the organizations I've been in theres tons more lower priced cars... you might be better off there. If you become a better driver you can keep up wtih the fast cars but still...I dont like running with cars that cost any more than a vett incase somethign does happen. Granted I couldnt pay for a vett if I hit one but at least I wouldnt be indebt the rest of my life.

The organizations I run with have all those higher end cars...dont get me wrong. But they have a much bigger assortment.

Thats all the groups. This company dosn't orgonize races, but track days. Slight difference. As I had said, everyones there to get there car fast, in a controlled area, with no cops to wreck your good record (though there was one waiting in the school zone down the road. a few of the rambunctious kids got caught there)
As it was, that was all groups.
Red had alot of the much higher cars, not to mention some of the more track only cars. Passing rules where:When ever, but wave by perfered
WHite was the itermediary advanced. Streight only, wave by perfered
Blue:Wave by only
Yellow: Blue for beguiners

All I see. That makes sense as the winds there can get nasty with the dirt.
