Default Reno vs. Monte Carlo SS

Well I was on the highway here in Pennsylvania heading home from my girlfriends house and I was at a atop light. This light took forever, I mean FOREVER (maybe due to the fact there may not have been a sensor and it was 1 am) but anyways, a Monte with this ugly ass snowflake vinyl and a girl in the pasenger seat pulls up next to me. He rolls down his window and says, "nice exhaust tip faggit." And Im sitting there thinking to myself, hey thats the reason I bought it to look like a partial ricer. But in reality that tip leads to a 2.25" stainless exhaust with flowmaster muffler and a 3" inch cat with custom headers. I also have the standard spectre "custom" intake with MSD ignition some NGK Iridium plugs, some ENKEI EVO6 wheels wrapped with Dunlop SP tires and a AEM standalone to boot. so he does a hard as hell launch and burns tire, but me and automatic are nice and happy with our launch and I pull ahead of him. He slowlys start to catch up but once my car shifted to second I start gaining a larger lead, not by much but slowly, so after about a mile he slows down and so do. Then at the next light I roll down my window and say to him, "Yeah, that exhaust tip must give me like 100 extra HP cause your body vinyl isnt giving you shit."

I have to question this one, because the 2007 Monte Carlo SS has 303 HP. And I say the Reno in question has at most 190Hp. Even with the weight difference the Carlo should have won. So unless the guy sucked at shifting, I don't see it you winning. Unless it was an older Monte Carlo, but even still.

exactly. The new SS (if this is what is was) is a 14 second car. Your reno would not even be close.. even if it was the supercharged 3.8 (last gen SS) you would still not even be close..

oh and a Reno with a air filter and muffer *may* pick up 5-7 hp at best. It is not even gonnan be close to 190 hp.

Sorry for not being specific, it wasnt a too old of one, but it did not have the complete curves of the recent one. And his was def an automatic. There isnt a muffler and a CAI just in my car, you forgot the AEM and also its a full 2.25" exhaust. The other thing is, this as up hill and through a long right.

I like how people think they can just judge your car by looking at it and not even know what is in it..lmao. In this case he thought it was just a tail pip, which at one point i had actually thought about getting just to make my car look a bit more shiny with chrome..hehe.

But just like to say, nice going and I liked your commit at the end you gave him about his car...lol, shows him right..hehe

MSD Ignition? WHat exactly. I'm looking into trying a thing or two, but I'm not sure if their coils will work on the Forenza

He said that he had custom headers, which usually give you a nice boost in power. And as far as the 5-7hp, I would say 6hp for the CAI and 5 for the muffer. So that be 11hp. Not including what ever power gain from the headers.

I agree, but anyone with some skill should have beaten our car with the Carlo.
