I have said that there may be a speed limiter on the 2006+ models I don't know and no one here with a 2006+ model has said they have hit that speed in their car. So until someone does, I would agree that there is most probably a speed limiter in the 2006+ models.
I am late to this discussion but Jurupa, I will proudly say it... I don't know if there is a speed limiter on my '06 Reno, considering I have gone past 120mph. I'm yet too chicken to try reaching 130. The highest my Reno has gone is about 125mph. The only mods are racing tires/wheels and a new exhaust/muffler tip...

What size are you tires? The reason I ask because form what I have read bigger tires mess up your spedometer, so you may have actually been going 120 even to your spedo said 125 because of the bigger tires. Question tho, was the car shaking? Because when I hit 120 the car was shaking, not a lot, but enough to make me want to back off and slow down.
But as far as being scared going to 130 be happy that you know your speed limit and are willing to acknowledge it. It is better to take your tme and increase your skill than trying to be a stupid ass and going for it. Ya its only 5 MPH faster, but its a different game when you are going that fast.
I'm sticking with 15s. IIRC, she wasn't shaking at all...it's been a while since I've gone that fast, though. I admit, going 120-5mph on the freeway is stupid, and I don't do it often (except when the competitive side of me kicks in), but she always handles just as if I were cruising down the street at non-highway speeds.
I'd like to find out if she can handle 130...but that's something for the future...
The way I see it as long as the freeway is clear enough and you know the freeway well, why not go 100+. The freeways around here are made with trucks in mind (besides earthquakes), so the the freeways around here are better to go 100+ than the streets.
Yeah, another worry stopping me is cops, though I suppose going 120+ when there's light-medium traffic ought to allow you enough time to get off the freeway just as they're barely getting on the ramp...

Thats waht I used to think sorta.
I wanted to do like 100 so I could slow down fast enough if I saw a cop...but then I figured "If I do about 110-120 no cops will come up behind me and my eyes and radar detector work good for the front" WRONG! I cant say for sure I was going that fast but it was over 100mph when I cop zoomed by me between AZ and CA...man I got luck.
Also once on a local freeway I was doing about 80mph when a cop went by me at what I wanna say was 120 but its hard to judge. I do remember racing a guy with a cop car...the type that most cops still have in this state. It looked stock except maybe lowered and at about 120 when I was pretty much topped out (long ago) he was pulling really strong.
Yeah, pretty much something one could only hope.
I did see a car that had been pulled over by a Camaro...that's one car of many I wouldn't want a cop driving who wanted to pull me over.
The highway patrol here has the Camaros, and they have LCD lights and are painted white so they are a bitch to spot. Their "primary" usage is suposeally to get truckers who are speeding, but they do go after cars as well.
