raced a gls jetta

well didnt win this one but was amazed i got him out of the hole. last night rolled up to a light with a gls jetta turboed. /intake/exhaust,aem turbo ects. well anywas we gave eachother the nod and at the light we went at it. i had him by about 4 cars until we got to 40. then he passed me when i went into second. hearing his tired still slipping

i was amazed he told me it had 190 stock and he was pusing over 230. he said that u dont see to many suzukis making a name for them selves. also he tought my car had way more power then it did.

went over to stright pipes.

gets those evo owners thinking twice ill tell ya.

Nice race. I am surprise you had him until 40 tho. With a turbo he should had been on you a lot closer or past you. Unless you got some mods on your car that helped (sounds like it). But I am glad that the guy showed respect even tho you lost. I think with more of us taking on other cars like this even if we loose, people will see what our cars can do, and hopefully more people will be interested in our cars.

What I found funny is the race I had with a VW Golf it went the other way around. The Golf had no mods that I could tell of, but the guy had me off the line and only got to my front bumper then at 50 or so I pulled past him.

i raced a turbo jetta and got my ass handed to me. i just wanted to hear his BOV, but he didn't have one

i doubt it but some beetle's are pretty fast tho but the answer is still no

the 1800CC was quick. Granted, the bugs light and its first gear is realy low

i know what you mean by fast bugs, theres a guy that my dad knows at this bug racing store in town who has a sleek restored oval back, all original stock except for the turboed engine racing tranny and performance tires. the cool thing about it is the guy did all his own welds so the turbo fits snug in the engine compartment and you dont see a thing. its a super sleeper. ive seen it burn rubber through each gear.

the 66' 1800cc was my first car

it wasnt too fast but off the line it took civics and some other cars, but anything past 50mph the thing sucked. i remember the steering wheel would shimmy after 60mph. it was a fun liitle car though.
