And you are right, why the hell are mazda's so exspensive. I don't see where they look like they should be that exspensive.. well except for the new Mazda RX-7 with the whole bose system and touch screen.. now that calls for a lot for a lot of money. As for the cars... wth...lol.

base model is about 15, but if you want simple luxuries they run up to 17 almost 19. why bother.

I believe the reason why Mazda's are on the expensive side is that they are a niche company, very much like Suzuki is.

Why are Suzukis so cheap? Having owned one myself (and raced in SCCA events), I can attest that it's a well built car, but there are definitely areas where costs are have been cut. The suspension, though balanced, is soft, underdamped, and doesn't inspire confidence; the seats are filled with cheap foam and offer no lateral support; the shifter linkage is made out of spaghetti; the dash is somewhat wavy and you can see where the dimples for the fasteners are...

Factoring everything, Suzukis are still a good value for the money. But with cars lilke Honda's Fit, which after test driving one, I can attest to is much more fun and rewarding to drive, Suzuki needs to improve their quality and fun factor (Hint: bring the Suzuki Swift to the US).

BTW, the stories are very entertaining, but I slowly see a trend of everyone slowly drowning in the b.s. around here.
