I hate trying to figure out that convertion.
If you floor it, ti should shift higher. If that is the max, then the Reno has you, just cause its still in first when you go into second. LOL Just gotta make the track longer.
As for taping... Its hard when you have to shift gears. MT!
Point being, none of us go around taping our drives to work. So any incounters are just hearsey, Most of us should have a good idea of how well we stack up to other cars. If you want to compare cars look up their 1/4 mile times for good drivers and compare but that by no means is going to let you know what is going to happen out on the street. I've been beaten by Focus' with no mods to 40 when i was sleeping at a light And have taken blown camaro's to 80 with a little Flash help( Funny story). I've been at organized events with money on the line won plenty and lost close to it all. Last thing any car can be beaten to a point but how many cars can u beat from 0- topspeed.
If you compare top speeds, I don't think any car in the same class can top us. Similar to what I said before about "How many cars are still in second gear at 70?".. How many cars under 14000 MSRP can top out at 125 mph STOCK.
When we have a list of cars that fit both of those, then we can have a fair comparison of who *should* beat who. Any other comparisons make no sense. I still can't say it enough "it's not all about HP".
I agree hp isn't everything, but there are alot of cars that have very close topspeeds. Plus all of us are here because we love the idea of modding cars. So let us put it like this, before anyone judges any spirited driving event we need to know the coniditions surrounding said event. Mods, temp, road conditions, weight( how many passengers) etc. before we can say good job or bs
And to clear up 0- topspeed..... How long does it take to reach it and how much road is needed. I can get to 100 alot faster than i can get 140 and the difference in road need is jaw dropping!
WARNING i was on my way to work in saint louis in my 06 reno. in the left lane as usuall, doing 85+ as usuall, when i look in my rearview and saw a red neon with front ground fx. so i put the hammer down and was at 100 in no time.. looked behind me again, he was gone. looked in front of me. he was there and taking off quickly.
got to work, read about the neon turbo.. 250+ plus stock horse!!!!!!!!
at the time it was built, it was the second fastest current production dodge, second only to the viper!

Now you learned your lesson that you should not race an Neon ST-4 unless you got a trubo with 12+ psi and some other major engine mods, becuase other wise it will kick your ass.

racing an automatic in my opinion is not racing, and also my car was at almost 40 in first at what i thought was 5800... im gonna tape my car and see what first goes to at redline. the reno cannot beat my car stock.
also the srt-4 is only 220 hp. but there are upgrades you can add that give it a racier suspension and smaller rims. also there are factory chip mods that increase the HP i believe 10 to 20 hp.
Ps. i do agree the reno does probably have the best top speed in its class, but the cars in its class are kinda weak. you probably wont see to many races against the cars in the renos class. admit you aint gonna brag about blowin away a kia rio..lol. everybody wants to go for the big namers. thats just human nature with racing.
