Hey all, just came back from a Bay Area Auto-X here in Oakland and wanted to see how many people in this forum are currently involved in Auto-X, Time Trials, and HPDE (track days).

I unfortunately was not able to compete this past weekend because the event was SCCA members only, I guess it's time to re-new that membership.

I know several people such as Chip and kinkyllama are involved in a few events, but let's see if there are anymore people that are already participants or even if you have the faintest of interests, post something up in this forum. Bay Area residency a bonus.

Hopefully more to come soon.

Cool to here from a fellow SCCA member. I haven't posted in a while because this forum was pretty much dead.

But, since you're on, we can get it started. I'll start cross referencing my events from the general discussions page to this page.

What car and class are you running in Alabama?

Well I started with the SCCA doing auto-x and totally gave up on them. I started when I was under 18 and there rules for underage is a joke. Theres many times I drove 40mins each way to the event to be turned around because my parents left something out of the waivor forum or my friend with me didnt have there paper notorized since they were 17 (Note, on the waivor it says it doesnt have to be notorized). So since then I've been doing track events with NASA and PAS (local, though its slowly growing) which are much easyier, hell I didnt even need anything signed to run nor did my friends to just be there. I've been doing open track events (hpdes mostly) for over a year now. I'm currently in HPDE2 though now my car is more track friendly Im going to move up to hpde3.

Check out some of the HPDE action we get around here at either Laguna Seca, Sears Point, or Thunderhill.

Suby Dude

I know a few of the guys there as they show up to the auto-x events every weekend. Go to the "video" section, there are some crazy passes that I asked some of the guys about that are in the 3rd group AKA the pass whenever group.
